Privacy policy

Lock In is a study timer made by Axon Lab. This page explains what the app collects, why, and what you can do about it.
- You can use the timer, stats and app locking without an account.
- We don't sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps and websites.
- The apps you choose to lock, and your calendar events, never leave your iPhone.
- You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app.
What we collect

What stays on your iPhone
- Locked apps. Lock mode uses Apple's Screen Time. The apps and websites you pick are stored on your device in a form that even we can't read, and are never sent to us.
- Your calendar. If you choose to show your calendar on the Plan tab, events are read on your device only. If you turn on "Add study blocks to my calendar", the app writes those blocks into a calendar on your device.
- Everything, if you don't sign in. Without an account, your sessions and settings are stored only on your iPhone.
Who processes data for us
We use a small number of services to run Lock In. They only process data on our behalf.

We don't use advertising networks and we don't use your device's advertising identifier.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data until you delete your account. Analytics events are kept for up to [RETENTION TO CONFIRM]. Apple keeps its own records of purchases.
Your choices
- Delete your account. In the app, open Settings → Account → Delete account. This removes your account, squad memberships and synced data from our servers. You can choose to keep the data on your iPhone.
- Hide your subject from squads. Settings → Account → "Show my subject to squads".
- Stop syncing. Sign out, or use the app without an account.
- Get a copy. Pro includes a CSV export of your sessions on the Stats tab. You can also email us for a copy of what we hold.
- Calendar and Screen Time access. Turn these off any time in the iPhone's Settings app.
Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to complain to a privacy regulator. Email us and we'll help.
Younger users
Lock In is made for students and isn't directed at children under 13. If you're under 18, please check with a parent or guardian before creating an account. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access rules on our database mean each person can only read their own data and what their squad members have chosen to share. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong passcode on your device.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app.
